Just a few days ago, the genre of rock music lost one of its most influential contributors. Adam Yauch, a member of the rock/rap group the Beastie Boys, finally succumbed to cancer on Friday. Yauch had been battling cancer in his salivary gland for three years before succumbing to it. The other two Beastie Boy members, Mike Diamond and Adam Horovitz, have been greatly affected by their friend's death. Fans of the Beastie boys continue to support Diamond and Horovitz and pay tribute to Yauch. Also, Coldplay has paid tribute to the band and to Yauch by covering one of their songs. Watch the tribute in the video above.

  1. The Beastie boys did so much for the music industry and were doing things back then that no one else was. Seeing that one of there members passed away is hard to see. Hopefully the other two members are doing alright and I'm sure everyone around the industry is reaching out to them.

  2. Rock Music sounds really cool!! I usually don't listen to rock, but I love the Beatles. I didn't know that Adam Yauch passed away, thats so sad, but at least he left a mark on the world. Coldplay is also pretty good!!
